Book Review: Programming Game AI by Example

This is a gem. Contains information on implementing state machines, path planning, and goal directed decision making, and flocking. There is a section on how to integrate the lua scripting language into your engine, and plenty of explanation about the guts of it. There’s a sensible precursor at the start of the book explaining some basic physics and geometry required for the task, several explanations, and motivating examples, for each of the different algorithms.

A useful reference. 8/10
